And the winner is.....
Yesterday was New Zealand Day, CeBIT's first ever national day. The offical ceremony kicked off at 10am with a New Zealand video clip and speeches from Dr Andreas Gruchow, Board Member of Deustche Messe; New Zealand Minister Hon. Pete Hodgson; and Mr Uwe Jens Neumann, Head of Hamburg@Work (New Zealand's neighbours at CeBIT).
The New Zealand pavilion continued to be a popular destination throughout the day as people thronged to the stand to watch the company presentations and to enter the Air New Zealand sponsored competition to win a trip for two from Germany to New Zealand.
In the evening the New Zealand companies and their VIP guests trekked off to the CeBIT convention centre for our 'Innovation through Collaboration' networking event. Snorred Kiesbou from Tandberg and Dr David Hanson from Hanson Robotics shared insights on their work with New Zealand companies and their perception of New Zealanders as innovative and open-minded.
The evening ended on a high note with the winner of an Air New Zealand trip for two to New Zealand being announced. NZTE would like to congratulate Joerg-Matthias Lenz from Boeblingen, Germany on his win. As it turns out Joerg-Matthias proposed to his wife in New Zealand so he is excited about returning to this 'romantic' country.

Prize winner Joerg-Matthias Lenz with Centruflow's Steve Dickinson and Jonathan Giles who invited him to the event.

The winner with Air NZ staff.
