New Zealand company and CeBIT 2008 exhibitor Author-it Software Corporation, a world leader in software for authoring, content management, and publishing, was recently named in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific for the second year in a row. Out of the 500 companies, only Author-it and 15 other organisations return to the Fast 500 list from previous years.
Rankings of the fastest-growing companies were based on the percentage of growth over three years, from 2004 to 2006. Author-it posted a growth rate of 114.64% in the software sector during this period. Along with the company's impressive growth rate, Author-it showed a strong focus on its market niche and clear channels to market nationally and internationally. The company was also recognised for its vision, strategy, and business execution.
Founded in 1996, Author-it is a world leader in providing software for component content management. The company services more than 3,000 clients in more than 50 countries across numerous vertical industries. Author-it's focus is in the software market, which was identified as the top-performing sector in 2007 with 129 fast-growing software companies making the ranking.
"We're extremely proud of our record-setting growth over the last several years," said Paul Trotter, CEO, Author-it Software Corporation. "Author-it was only one of 16 companies to make the ranking twice since the award started in 2002, showing that the careful strides we've taken as a management team over the last years are paying off.
"Furthermore, the Deloitte study showed that Author-it is headquartered in one of the most vibrant technology areas in the world, and is also in one of the fastest growing market sectors. Needless to say, we're very optimistic about the future outlook for Author-it."
The Deloitte study also pointed out that the Asia Pacific tech sector is buoyant with the fastest-growing companies experiencing the highest level of growth in the history of the rankings, and CEOs reporting record levels of confidence in business conditions which they expect to continue for another two years. Deloitte noted that growth in the Asia Pacific region is at its highest point since the beginning of the rankings, which began in 2002.
The Asia Pacific rim includes countries from New Zealand, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. New Zealand was the most represented country in this group, with 38 New Zealand companies being named in the ranking. The survey found that New Zealand companies grew their national economy by $335 million between FY2005 and FY2007.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific ranking covers both public and private companies. The awards were researched and sponsored by the Deloitte Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Industry Group.
